I'm Soooooo Excited

and I just can't hide it!!!

My birthday is coming up in about 3 weeks.  Normally it's just like every other day with little to no fanfare.  This year is gonna be different though!

My birthday is Oct. 12th and unfortunately, I have to attend a mandatory day-long meeting for work.  Ugh!  But - on Oct. 10th I'm gonna go skydiving!!!  Yep, I'm gonna jump out of a perfectly good plane for no reason at all other than I've always wanted to do it.  I can't wait!!!

This is my present to myself.  I'm also buying the newest Postsecret book which will be out on Oct. 6th.  I love the website and have all the other books.

So this year will be an excellent birthday!  Even if no one else acknowledges it, that's ok.  I'll have bought myself two presents that I truly want.

Next weekend is See Spot Walk.  I wanna go but I'm not sure about taking all 3 dogs - one very old beagle with a bad leg, a chihuahua who doesn't like to walk and another one who truly enjoys it.  Then there's me with a bad hip.  I'm thinking I might leave the beagle and the chihuahua who doesn't like to walk at home and just take the one who does.  I went a few years ago and got tons of free stuff for my dogs.  Unfortunately, I dropped a few of the bags and didn't notice it until I got back to the car so I lost some of the best stuff.  Each booth we went to gave us a different bag so it was easy to drop them and not immediately realize it.

My parents are still on vacay.  I've talked to them several times since I went to go see their young beagle in the kennel.  I decided I would tell them what I saw and experienced and abide by their wishes.  They tell me the dog will be fine and they're coming home soon so not to worry too much about him.  I can't bring myself to go back and see him again but I've been calling regularly.  They said he's made a friend and that they were expecting several more beagles over the weekend.  I hope he's doing ok.  I truly miss him and still cry when I think about how unhappy he must be there.

5 showed me some love:

I hope you have fun sky-diving for your birthday. You are much braver than I am!

See Spot Run sounds like so much fun. We love going to events for pets where you can bring them along. I would say take the Chi who like to walk. Three dogs would be a handful. The two at home can keep each other company while you keep the third company at the event. I always take Bentley and Lexi together but that's because they can't bear to be separated and have no one to keep them company at home without the other. Also, hubby always comes along. He enjoys it too. So yeah, I think taking the one who likes to walk is a good idea. If he gets tired, you can carry him for a little while then let him walk again. That way your bad hip doesn't act up from carrying around one dog and walking another. :)
