Half Full Friday -- On A Saturday!

I missed posting yesterday -- sorry! Still getting used to school and the overwhelming amount of homework.  It's all good though!

Half Full Friday is a series of weekly posts that Eyegirl originally started in June 2009.  We believe that a lot of our happiness is determined by our attitude about the things that happen to us.  So by participating, I'm deciding to see the glass as half full instead of half empty; I'm choosing to concentrate on the positives instead of dwelling on the negatives.  The Half Full Friday posts are a way to do just that.  They're a list of the things in my life that have brought me happiness over the past week.  I'm determined to find something good in each day.  Are you?
For the next week, I'd like to challenge each of you to keep a list of at least one thing that brought you happiness each day.  Be sure to link up here once you've posted your list.
~I'm happy because...
I got to talk to two friends from high school that I hadn't talked to in years this week!

We had beautiful weather a few days this week!

Melissa was kind enough to do a guest post for me!

My homework load isn't quite as heavy this weekend as it was last weekend!

I got a free cappuccino yesterday!

I found a slightly closer parking lot to my classes!  It's cut 5 minutes off my 20 minute walk to class every morning!

There was no major damage done to my car by the guy who hit me!

Yep, someone hit my car.  I was parked out front of the place I volunteer.  Someone commented that there was a guy trying to parallel park and he'd hit the car in front of him at least twice.  I knew I had parked out there so I ran out to find out what was going on.  The guy continued to try to park and almost hit my car again.  Finally he gave up and drove around the corner to park instead.  He told me he didn't mean to hit my car but he never actually apologized for it.  The damage was minimal - just a few small scratches.  The fact that he couldn't even be bothered to apologize and didn't seem to think it was a big deal that he'd hit my car really ticked me off.  I told him I needed his insurance info and it turns out the car apparently wasn't even his - no wonder he didn't seem to care!  I made a police report and contacted the insurance company.

I'm really enjoying school a lot and have made a couple of friends.  I'm just amazed at how unprepared some of the students seem to be.  Like in my psychology class - there's this guy who sits next to me who never takes any notes.  At the end of class, he always asks me what the next assignment is and when it's due.  He missed one assignment completely and missed class today so now he'll miss another assignment.  Someone asked me today what his story is and said she didn't think he was all there.  She thought that because we always seem to sit next to one another in class that maybe I knew him.  I don't but I do wonder why he isn't taking advantage of the education he could be receiving.  He's an older gentleman so I'm pretty sure mom and dad aren't paying for school.

My boys don't seem to know what to think about me going to school.  I spend my days off doing homework which they don't appreciate.  They think I should spend every free waking moment paying attention to them.  They've been clingy lately and I think it's because they aren't used to me being gone.  I did get some pictures of them with my new camera but haven't had much time to figure out how to upload them yet.  I really need to do that because I want to see if it's any better quality than my old camera.

Don't forget about Pip and Bunny's big race!  It's coming up really soon and you don't want to miss out.  I don't know Bunny so I'm rooting for Mr. Pip all the way.  He may be small but that doesn't mean he can't hustle!  GO, PIP!!!
I may have another Guest Post for Monday, just waiting to for her to send it.

Great half full post!! Hey.. 15 minutes is better than 20 minutes!! I hope your weather is cooperating. A 20 minute walk here would be pretty cold about now.

The good news is you aren't missing any new Big Bang shows. They've been repeats lately. BOO!

Wags,
Zona

It irritates me too that some people are so inconsiderate and disrespectful about other people's property. I'm sorry that happened and even though it wasn't a big dent, that's purely coincidental. Surely he didn't calculate the the degree of damage he was inflicting on your vehicle since he didn't "mean to do it" - what an idiot!

Yes, children will react clingy that way - I remember from my working days when my daughter was young...but you are trying to better yourself for their sakes as well and when one is not independently wealthy, that's the price we have to pay. Hopefully in time they will learn to understand.
I commend you for going back to school.

Just use your instincts when it comes to that guy, especially if he isn't quite right in the head. The last thing you need is trouble with a student - can you sit someplace else?

Happy weekend and give your kids an extra hug (for me!)

Love,
Doris and Gizzy :-)

Happy Friday on a Sunday.;)
Glad you like school and that you had good weather.;)Here it has been reasonable as well.;)
So sorry about your car, what a strange guy.
I scratched my car badly on the passenger side in December trying to park in an overcrowded mall parking lot.:( I scratched it against a concrete post. Now I have to soon get it fixed as it looks bad and will most likely start to rust. My poor car...
Have a lovely Sunday dear friend,
xoxo

That's awesome about getting a better spot. But that sucks that the guy hit you and didn't even seem to care. I'm glad you got the information and contacted your insurance. :)

Free cup of joe? That's great! I'm glad to hear that this weekend will be easier for you than last. I can only imagine what it would be like to spend the weekend doing homework! It's been so long since I've done that that I would be lost!

That Pip vs. Bunny race looks fun! I agree with you that small dogs can be just as fast and strong willed as bigger, taller doggies!
