Half Full Friday

Half Full Friday is a series of weekly posts that Eyegirl originally started in June 2009.  We believe that a lot of our happiness is determined by our attitude about the things that happen to us.  So by participating, I'm deciding to see the glass as half full instead of half empty; I'm choosing to concentrate on the positives instead of dwelling on the negatives.  The Half Full Friday posts are a way to do just that.  They're a list of the things in my life that have brought me happiness over the past week.  I'm determined to find something good in each day.  Are you?

For the next week, I'd like to challenge each of you to keep a list of at least one thing that brought you happiness each day.  Be sure to link up here once you've posted your list.
~I'm happy because...
~KS is a total ROCK STAR and came through for me once again with an UH-MAY-ZING cover letter, even though she's insanely busy with her new job!

My new haircut turned out really cute!

I'm absolutely LOVING high speed internet!

I also love my new blog layout!

I finally made tacos yesterday after craving them for a week or so!  And I have leftovers!
The fresh-cut flowers I got a couple of weeks ago are still in bloom!

I have a tentative lunch date with a friend on my first day of school!

I won vanilla and dog toys from Katie's most recent live giveaway!

Sadly, not a single one of you volunteered to guest post so it's gonna be awfully quiet here on the home front for a little bit.  This is how I'm thinking it'll all go down:

My schedule is M-W-F from 8:40 AM to 1:30 PM.  Monday the 17th is a holiday so I won't actually start until Wednesday the 19th.  I'll do a regular post on Monday, prepare my Wednesday post in advance for you and then do another post on Friday to talk about my impressions of the first day of school.

And after that?!  I'll take a short break from posting until I get back into the groove of things. It'll be good to have a set schedule again but it's going to take some getting used to since it's been over a year since I've had one, plus I'll have all that homework to do.  I don't know how much time that will all take up but I want to be sure I'm not spreading myself too thin because I really want to do well in school.

I'm not going to quit blogging altogether though, I enjoy it too much!  I've made some wonderful friends from it and I'd miss you all so much if I stopped.

I've decided for the time being that I'm not going to do Blog of the Week anymore.  I'm not sure if I'll bring that feature back or not.  It's time consuming and I have other things to focus on for the time being.  I might just do it once in awhile if I come across a really amazing blog that I adore.  I'm not going to count it out for good quite yet, I'm just going to take a break from it for a little while.

16 showed me some love:

You'll surely be missed around here, but at least you'll be absent for a good cause! And I will miss your blog of the week, I've been reading a lot of great ones based on your recommendations. I do hope that you'll at least do a blog of the week every once in a while!

Good luck with your first day of school next week though!!!

I am one of those QUALITY over Quantity kinda guys. I'm thinkin I would rather hear from YOU... even if it is only 3 times a week... than have guests post.
We are all gonna want to hear about how you are getting along in school and stuff.. We will want to know if you are learning to sit and stay and if they are using clickers and all that. SEEEEEEE.. I've been to school already... and I know all about it. I even have an ADVANCED degree.
I went to PetSmart University and Stuffy Distributorship! Bet you didn't know that, did you!!!

Frankie Furter is too funny, but so right:) We will miss your posts but we do understand. Being happy with a good haircut and lunch with a good friend - two wonderful things!

I agree with Frankie quality over quantity and put school first. I only post three times a week. I would love to do more, but just don't have the time right now.

We will miss hearing from you, but it will make it all the more fun when you do post!

Your pal, Pip

Hey Wylde One!
Wow, you're gonna be busy. School's primo important, so that comes first. We all understand. I really want to stay in touch though, so we gotta still do a little blogging together. You have to give your brain a vacation once a week or so. I'm glad your haircut is good...that's really important too!

happy happy new year and stuffs!
i totally 100% dig your new bloggie layout! the pink elephants are way cutesies! :)
i'm so very super full of the excitements to hear about your first day of school! don't worry too much about your bloggin' schedule. everybuddy knows that real life always comes firstest, so you will find your groove like you said and blog when you can! we'll all be here to read when you have the time.
oh, and you aren't the only one who asked to see mama's ouchie. she's still sayin' NO PICS, though. (she's so square sometimes!) the ouchie is startin' to heal up now. mama says the biggest problem is tryin' to type. she's got fat finger syndrome right now. teehee.
about the toe cap thingies -- i really don't mind havin' peeps mess with my paws, so no worries at all for me. but asa hates havin' people touch her paws. at first, she didn't like the toe cap thingies at all, but now she doesn't mind. we know that the sooner we sit still and let mama put them on, the sooner we can get back to playin' and stuff!

pee s -- that was a super duper good idea to put the coconut M&M's in the freezer so you can take some to school with you. YUMMY!

Happy Friday on a Sunday dear friend. Sorry that I am visiting so late, I have been caught up with RL this weekend.;)
As for blogging, yes it can be a bit tricky when you have a full day of occupation.;) I used to blog every day and I prepared all my posts in the weekend before. It was crazy as I did nothing else but blogged every weekend. Now I post only 3 times a week and it works much better, even though I have a full time job. I still spend at least an hour every day though visiting other places.
You will get a hang of things, the transitions is the worst one.
Hope you are having a lovely Sunday,
xoxo

I'm glad your father is supportive in your education. I wonder if you are the reason he's thinking of going back himself? That would be a good thing. I believe a person can learn something new, no matter what age...I didn't volunteer because I am also trying to cut down blogging since this is my outdoor time with Gizzy and I can't spend 1/2 day on the computer or else I'll get nothing done...I know you'll do well because you sound determined and organized and I will wish you all the best in your endeavors.

By the way, how did the interview go?
