Swimming In The Rain

We've had almost nonstop rain since last Thursday and it's supposed to continue at least through Tuesday.  I hope it clears up at least a little bit.  Tonight it was rainy and foggy - not good conditions for driving to my mom's house for dinner.  Plus, my boys don't like to go out in the rain.

The next time you read my blog, I'll have started school - my first day is Wednesday.  I'm excited and overwhelmed all at the same time.  I went to the campus on Thursday after my interview to take care of a few things and the thing that struck me the most is that they aren't very new student friendly.  Everyone there seemed to think I should just automatically know how everything works.

I didn't ask for any specific kind of parking pass so they gave me a general pass.  I really should've looked into it further beforehand because when the dude showed me the map of where I could park AFTER I bought the pass, I didn't see anything anywhere near any of my classes.  The closest spot was what the dude said was, "Only an 8 minute walk to class."  Um yeah, if you don't have a bad hip, maybe!  So I'm kinda freaking over the whole parking situation.

I soooooo need this!
I already have homework.  I have to write up a paper stating my name, student number, major, why I'm taking the class and what I hope to gain from it.  And provide a picture.  I'm half tempted to say that I'm taking the class because it's one of the core classes and I hope to gain an A+ from it.  I'm pretty sure that's not what the professor is looking for though so I guess I'll have to come up with something else...

Me and the new camera are not getting along very well.  It just doesn't wanna work very well for me.  I read the book and I still can't really work it.  I took it with me on Saturday to a get-together and a friend showed me what to do and it worked great for her!  Took it home and I still have no clue what I'm doing.  I just wanted a simple point and shoot camera and it's frustrating that I can't figure the stupid thing out.

I've had request for a picture of the outfit I wore on the first day of school, school supplies, my new shoes (which will be part of the outfit I wear that first day!) and the fresh cut flowers that have stayed bloomed for so long.  And of course, there will be pix of my pups!  If I can figure out how to use the stupid camera...

We are getting some rain today too. It is nice because when it is raining the dogs sleep in. We got to sleep until 10 this morning without a single dog interruption. Ah!

Good luck with the whole parking thing, it sucked where I went to school to. We had to get there so early, I used bring a book or magazine, get a parking spot and read. Maybe you too can find a good parking spot if you head there early.

Good luck Wednesday!

Just a few days on campus and things will feel better for you. Maybe you should go back and see if there is anything you can do to get a parking pass for a closer area. It might be worth the extra costs.

Cameras can be a pain sometimes. Does this just have an automatic setting? That would be the best to use for starters.

Oh, good luck with your school start!! How exciting, I bet you have all kind of mixed feelings about it.;) But it will be great, I know it.;)
As for your camera, if you do not feel like going back to the store and ask for help, try to look for hints and tips online. Go to youtube and try to search for your brand, at times they will have very good *how to* clips.;)
Have a great day dear friend,
xoxo

Hey there Sprinkles...

This is great news about your 'back to school'! Well done on taking the step and good luck for Wednesday.
You are not the only one with adjustment problems to cameras. I spent a whole day today on a course to orientate me to my new camera and feel even more confused than I was...Phew!
Hey...perhaps you'll meet a nice fellow student who has closer parking and you will be able to hitch a ride :)

Sending lotsaluv to you

Your school sounds like the one I work at! My middle son went here and my youngest son goes there now. I've worked for the college over 4 years now and I still think they aren't very student friendly at all. Lots of mis-communication and lack of information all to gether. & one of the programs I work for cost a LOT of money for these students to attend. So parents and students both are not happy when they don't find out what's going on or order the wrong books because the book store has no clue what they are doing or that we even have an 'aviation' program. wow.. they really need employee training first.. so they possibly help our paying students. They seem to miss the point that students actually pay them! :-)

I hope the camera works out for you1 I don't take good pictures with my first & only digital camera. The boys seem to work it better too. Maybe I should read my book... no that may just confuse me more. :-)

Good luck with school!!!!!!!!!!!! You are going to do GREAT!!!!
HUGS,

we finally got rid of the rain at our house, so i hope your rain is gone now, too! all i wanted to do was go walkies, but mama was all like noooo. of course miss prissy asa didn't wanna get her toesies wet either. sigh.
anywho, i hope your parking situation goes okie dokie. mama says for her first semester she had a car at school, she had a really crappy parking situation, and it took her about 20 minutes to get anywhere from her car. she got it fixed for the next semester! since you have a bad hip, would you be able to get a handicapped spot?

*woof*
