Half Full Friday!

Half Full Friday is a series of weekly posts that Eyegirl originally started in June 2009.  We believe that a lot of our happiness is determined by our attitude about the things that happen to us.  So by participating, I'm deciding to see the glass as half full instead of half empty; I'm choosing to concentrate on the positives instead of dwelling on the negatives.  The Half Full Friday posts are a way to do just that.  They're a list of the things in my life that have brought me happiness over the past week.  I'm determined to find something good in each day.  Are you?

For the next week, I'd like to challenge each of you to keep a list of at least one thing that brought you happiness each day.  Be sure to link up here once you've posted your list!  (This isn't a blog hop so please only link up if you've participated by posting your happy list.  Thanks!)
~I'm happy because...
I've had a whole week off for Spring Break!

I got lots of quality time in with the chi's this week!  I didn't realize how much I miss being able to spend so much time with them.

I've gotten around to visiting almost all of you this week!  If I haven't stopped by yet, I will!

The weather was beautiful yesterday and today!  We won't talk about the rest of the week.

I found out on Friday that I got an A on my government test!  I was so excited because the other two tests I've only gotten C's on, even though I studied for them.

I got my haircut yesterday!

I won Mark makeup from Amber's Live Giveaway!

My mom's birthday is today!  We're celebrating by spending the day at the zoo and possibly the museum!

A good portion of my week has been spent finishing up homework.  I might as well have been attending class for as much homework as I've had to do.  I had at least 2 lengthy assignments for each class except government.  My professor said he'd post the new assignment on the website but I've been checking every day and it still isn't there.  So it looks like I'll be spending the weekend working on it.

I met with an advisor last Friday.  I didn't realize it when I made the appointment since someone else had given me the phone number but I ended up talking with a woman in the Career Center.  Not exactly what I was looking for but it was still helpful.  She gave me some paperwork to review which lists various careers that you can do with different majors.  The woman also gave me a couple of links she thought I might find helpful.  They're for three different tests you can do that'll kind of give you an idea of what kind of career might suit you best.  I haven't taken them yet, there's a charge for two of them.  She also said she could set up a job shadow if I was interested.  I told her I'd love that so she said she'd email me the information.  When she sent it, she said the woman agreed to do an informational interview with me and she included a link for questions that might be beneficial for me to ask.  WTF?!  I thought I was going to be doing a job shadow?  There was an issue with the phone number so I had to email the woman.  Because of the phone number issue, she thought it would be best if I emailed her my questions so I came up with about 15-20 and brought up the possiblity of doing a job shadow.  Waiting back now to find out if that's something that I can do.  A job might sound great in theory and/or on paper but actually doing the job can be a totally different experience!  And I'd want to know what I was getting into in advance.  Most jobs you aren't that lucky enough to do that before you start so I'm going to take advantage of the opportunity now while I can.

Wow, an A is super cool no matter what subject it is in. And time with the doggies is ALWAYS the best! The job shadowing thing sounds like a good opportunity. Keep us posted on what you decide.

That Giraffe made me laugh - I love their faces - and Camels look funny too face on.

What's a job shadow? Is that where you watch someone at their job so you can decide if you'd like to do that? I've taken a Briggs-Meyers aptitude test to see what I was suited for, but you know what? If I took that test today, my answers would be totally different because it has a lot to do with the frame of mind you're in when taking the test (well, just like all tests) but when I took that test, I pretty much hated everything ;-) and I got some really weird answers...but it's fun to try - do it if you can because I'm sure you'll learn something about yourself.

Happy Birthday to your mom - a day at the zoo or the museum sounds like something I'd like to do for my Birthday!

You cut your hair? How short? Are you happy with it? Good thing about hair, it always grows back ... I've been thinking of cutting mine totally short for the summer, I mean, almost flat to my head short, but then I have a big, round face and I don't think it would work for me...maybe if I were smaller...oh, well....something to ponder.

Have a great weekend and good luck with your studies. You are doing well. Your endurance and determination will pay off!!!

Happy Friday to you (on a Saturday) dear friend. So many good news you share today.;)
Congratulations on your good grade. And are you happy with your new haircut? I am soon in a major dilemma when it comes to my hair - I have stopped colouring it and I hate having it growing out, showing the line and looking terrible.;)

I feel so much optimism from your writing these days, you seem happy.;)) And that is so nice to see, as last year you felt so down.;) I am so glad life is smiling at you again.;)
Have a lovely weekend dear sprinkles,
xoxo

Hi Sprinkles! Sorry I'm late again. Been crazy busy cleaning. Once I got that spring bug yesterday, there was no stopping me. haha

First, I'm glad you got quality time with your boys! I'm sure you all needed that with school and all. Second, I hope you had a Great with you mom yesterday. Souonds like fun! Finally, job shadowing is the best and first thing always!! My youngest son did in culinary school and found the right 'setting' that he feels comfortible with. Then he picked an internship that matched that. Now he is looking for a 'real' job for after he graduated this summer. For sure do as many job shadows as you can, in lots of different areas. My middle son had no idea what he wanted as a career and hated the first 2 places he worked after college. Thank goodness 3rd time was a charm for him. :-)

Good luck & I know you will do Great anywhere you choose!!
Hugs,
Coreen XOXO
