Happy New Year!

It's the start of a new year, new decade and a new month.  I hope everyone had a very Happy New Year!  I ended up staying home with my boys which was exactly what I didn't want to do but it turned out not to be so awful.  I've done it before and will probably do it again.  What did you do?

Later today I'm getting my haircut.  It's been awhile and I'm ready for a new look for my new life.  And then just before I start school in a couple of weeks, I'll color it.  It's time for a change and this will be just one of many!

Speaking of school, I'm thinking I'm going to take the first week or two off blogging.  Just until I get into the swing of things.  That doesn't mean I won't be visiting and commenting on other blogs because I just might.  I have a feeling I'm going to be very overwhelmed the first few weeks of school and I don't want to have anything else to worry or think about until I get used everything and get myself into a bit of a groove.

So with that said, would anyone be interested in doing a guest post for me?  It can be about anything -- how much you love your dog, your own college days, a favorite vacation or even just random ramblings.  Come on, you KNOW you want to!  You know you do!!!  So leave me a comment and I'll get back to you.

I'm just loving DSL!  I've found my time online cut in half of what it was before and I rarely have to wait for a page to load now.  And I love being able to watch all the videos I want.  The best part - the phone won't kick me offline now when it rings!  Actually, the best part was really that I could set it up on my own without any assistance from anyone else.  I'm not exactly the brightest bulb in the bunch so if *I* could figure out how to hook it up, you know it had to be super easy!

Much thanks to Amber @ Zany Dezines for creating my new background.  She was very nice when I freaked out on her because it wasn't exactly what I wanted and got it fixed for me.  I won this pre-made background awhile back and figured the start of a new year was as good as any time to get it installed.  She did a great job!
Almost forgot!  I won these SKOY cloths recently from one of Katie's many giveaways!  Big props to her for allowing me to use her picture.  I received four cloths -- pink, purple, green and blue.  Haven't used them yet because I need to wash them first.

19 showed me some love:

I'm thinkin that giving yourself a LITTLE time off from us is a good idea... You will need to get back in the Swing of thingys..

BUTT.... I do think that you should at least give us a few sentences telling us about your
FURST day... and showing us all those super school supplies you were sent.. Hope you have a few of those Coconut M&M's left. hehehehe

You're going back to school--that's awesome. I think you will do wonderfully. When I was in school I was pretty unreliable about posting on a regular basis, but with that being said, I did really well in school. You do what you've got to do to rock school. :)

The blog looks great. And you will really love DSL especially with your needing to do research for school.

And yes, for sure, just a quick post to let us know how the start of school goes.

Your post today sounds so upbeat - we can tell you are excited for this new adventure. Best of luck to you with it all.

Happy New Year dear friend!;)
I LOVE your new look here, so refreshing and so YOU!;)) Lovely!
I have been alone for New Years only once (last year) and I did not like it, I have to admit. As you say, it was not as bad as I thought, not until midnight, when I simply felt it was awful not to have anyone to usher the New Year in with.
So this year I had invited some friends and we had a great party, I had a blast.;)

Looks like you've got a good plan and are lining up your ducks in a row for a great start. Good luck with going back to school...cutting down blogging is a very good idea. I know it takes a lot of time away from my day and I don't have a life!

In fact, I'm going to cut down blogging because I spend 1/2 day outside and I still have to do a certain amount of promoting for my Etsy shop online and if I don't enjoy this weather, soon it'll be too hot again and we'll be trapped in here with the A/C this is my freedom to roam outside.

Good luck and a Happy New Year!
