Half Full Friday!

Half Full Friday is a series of weekly posts that Eyegirl originally started in June 2009.  We believe that a lot of our happiness is determined by our attitude about the things that happen to us.  So by participating, I'm deciding to see the glass as half full instead of half empty; I'm choosing to concentrate on the positives instead of dwelling on the negatives.  The Half Full Friday posts are a way to do just that.  They're a list of the things in my life that have brought me happiness over the past week.  I'm determined to find something good in each day.  Are you?

For the next week, I'd like to challenge each of you to keep a list of at least one thing that brought you happiness each day.  Be sure to link up here once you've posted your list!  (This isn't a blog hop so please only link up if you've participated by posting your happy list.  Thanks!)
~I'm happy because...
I got an award!  I'll post it soon.

A classmate (from a different class) helped me with a math problem I was struggling with!

I won Summer's giveaway!

My econ class was unexpectedly cancelled on Monday!  I hate that class.

I got an almost $100 refund check from my mortgage escrow account!

So far, my new boss is really nice!

My physical therapy bill is now paid in full!   Out of an over $3000 bill, my then insurance company paid less than 10% of the bill so it's taken forever to get it paid off!

I tried to quit my volunteer activity this week.  I told the leader of it, or whatever her official title is, that I just don't have the time or the energy to do it anymore and that the group was a worthy cause who deserved someone who was able to put their all into the position.  My time is extremely limited and I just don't feel I'm up to the job.  She basically said that no, I'm not going anywhere and that they'll take over half the position and I'll just worry about the other half.   It's still going to take up a lot of my time though.

I haven't decided how I feel about this.  I suppose I should be flattered.  Actually, I think a lot of it is just that we still have open positions on the committee that need to be filled and mine would be yet another one.  I do like the committee better this year.  They seem a lot friendlier than some of the past committees.  I just wish I had more time to devote to it.  There's only so many hours in a day though!

That's great about your physical therapy bills. I had the same thing a couple of years ago - high bills and insurance that would only cover a small portion of it even though I had a prescription from my doctor. Ugh!

You are really having some amazing luck lately, I'm so happy all those good things happened this week.
I think if your time is limited you were right to quit your volunteer work so you can contcentrate on the things you need to and the chewies get to spend more time with you - win, win!

Congrats of the good week and refund!! Not sure what I think about the 'volunteer leader' saying No to you. You should be flattered of course; just hope it doesn't cause stress on you that you don't need. ;-)

Have a Wonderful weekend!!

You had a great week! And I have the feeling that the people you volunteer with value you too much to let you go - you should feel good about that, but if you don't have time, you shouldn't let them pressure you. Guilting you into staying isn't a good reason to volunteer; your heart has to be in it to enjoy it.
