Blog of the Week & Half Full Friday!

Eyegirl is on vacay this week but I'm still gonna do Half-Full Friday just because I can!  'Cause that's how I roll and stuff.
I'm happy I got to take my boys for a walk today!  Chico enjoyed it but Shiver just wanted me to carry him.

I'm happy the weather was decent most of the week so I got to wear a summer dress and some of my summer shoes!

I'm happy I got someone else to mow my lawn last weekend!  They didn't do a very good job so I didn't feel bad about not having much to pay them.

I'm happy my friend invited me over for french toast last weekend!  It was yummy!

I'm happy I FINALLY figured out what to get my father for his birthday on Sunday!  That man is next to impossible to buy for because he already has everything and what he doesn't have, he'll go buy it.

I'm happy I have 24 wonderful followers!

This week's Blog of the Week is actually a website.  It's not the one I was going to feature last week because I still haven't really taken the time to review it the way I'd like to before doing a write-up on it.

Every now and again I'll get an email with pictures from this particular website.  I wondered where they came from because they're taken from various Walmart stores all over the country; I didn't realize their was an actual website!  It looks it was started in August 2009.

I know it's not nice to make fun of people, I really do!  I was made fun of all the time growing up so I know how it feels to be on the receiving end.  But some of the pictures posted here - you can't help but laugh at them!  It makes me think people don't bother to look at themselves in the mirror before they leave the house because I don't understand why they would go out in public like that otherwise!

Here's a few sample pictures taken directly from the website:
A picture is worth a thousand words and these three speak volumes!  LOL

One thing I do like is that you can vote on each picture.  Some are funny, some are gross, some are just plain weird.  You can also sign up for weekly emails featuring pictures from the site.  I'm not signed up but I visit usually every couple of weeks.  And I'm thrilled that I no one has taken a picture of me and posted it on there yet!  LOL  I like to think I dress better than this but I'm sure I've had my moments!

You Asked, I Answer

This week is starting out promising.  I just got a call a little bit ago to set up an interview for tomorrow!  The company doesn't pay well but at least it's something!

The weather is beautiful outside too!  I wore my first summer dress of the year yesterday and couldn't stop smiling.  I adore my summer dresses and summer shoe collection so it was beyond thrilling to be able to wear them again.  It's supposed to get cold again later in the week so I'm just soaking up all I can until then.

Last week I did a post asking my readers to ask me questions.  And you did!  I know you've been waiting with anticipation for my answers so here you go...

One of my favorite bloggers, KS, wants to know:  What do you do for a living?
At the moment I'm unemployed and looking for anything I can.  My career in the past 10 years has been in banking.  I started out as a teller, then worked in a call center for the same bank and from there I moved to the commercial loans department.  I quit that company and went to work as a mortgage loan processor for the company I got fired from.  I'm actually glad I don't work for that company anymore for a LOT of different reasons, I just wish that I left of my own accord rather than getting fired.  I've never been fired before and it's a pretty humbling experience that I hope never to repeat again!

What's one food you couldn't live without?

This is a hard one!  I'm a hardcore junkfood junkie!!!  If it isn't good for you, then that's what I want to eat!  I'm gonna go with chocolate.  I heart chocolate and am of the firm belief that you can never have too much.

Velvet Over Steel says:  Who's your company?  Anyone interesting?

My company never showed.  It wasn't anyone interesting really, I was just referring to the mechanic.  I thought it sounded better to say I was expecting company rather than I was expecting the mechanic.  LOL  He came the next day though.  And one of my friends stopped by the next day too.

The lovely Zuzana asks:  How old are you?  I have been trying to figure this out for some time.
I don't like to give my age.  Because of this, my co-workers at my last job did anything and everything they could to figure it out even though I told them it was none of their business and I'd appreciate if they'd just respect my privacy.  I've surmised that you and I are about the same age only I think you're maybe a little older than me.

Max's question is:  Why do you refer to yourself as Wyldechylde?
Actually, I refer to myself as sprinkles!  I'm not sure why I decided to call the blog Wyldechylde.  I remember my mom calling me that when I was a little kid.  It wasn't a nickname or anything, I just remember her calling me that now and again.  I probably was a little wild.  I didn't like to be told what to do and to this day, I still talk back to my parents.  I got smacked, spanked, grounded, had priviledges and things taken away, etc. and it never stopped me.  So while I'm not sure how I decided on the name, I do know how I came up with the spelling!  I used to be really into local, unsigned bands.  I mean, really into them!  I still am a little bit but not to the extent that I was.  I collected flyers for awhile and somewhere along the line, I remembered seeing the name.  I thought it was kind of cool so when I decided on the blog name, I just stole the spelling.

What would you like to do that you have never done before?
This is an easy one!  I tried to go skydiving around my birthday but it didn't work out.  The weather was too nasty and the clouds prevented the plane from being able to get up high enough to jump.  I'm determined that it's gonna happen one day though!!!!!

And finally, the lovely Mrs. Lovely asks:  What is your shoe size?
I have baby feets and I hate it!  I wear a size 5.  Most size 5's are geared towards children still so it's very difficult to find adult looking shoes.  And next to impossible to find heels!  My feet tend to be on the smaller side of 5's so I always have to try shoes on before buying them.  Sometimes 5's are too big.  The only places I shop for shoes is Payless and KMart.  Everywhere else seems to be pretty useless.  If I go into a professional shoe store or somewhere where there's someone to help you try on shoes, I just get frustrated and mad because they never have what I want and instead of just telling me that straight up, they show me anything and everything but what I've asked for and even though they've measured my foot, the shoes they bring me never seem to fit.

Is there anywhere you'd love to travel to?
I went to Hollywood a bazillion years ago and absolutely loved it!!!  I didn't have dreams of becoming a big star or anything but I loved that the stores were open late and there always seemed to be things to do.  It was very unlike my small town.  I wouldn't mind going there again.  I also really love Seattle.  I've been there twice and wish I could spend more time there.  From there, we went over the border into Canada.  The first time we went was like 3 in the morning and not suprisingly, it was pretty dead!  We went back to the hotel, caught some Z's and went back later in the day and really enjoyed ourselves.  The people there were all so friendly!  I'd like to go back there again and spend a few more days there too.  The traffic was awful though.  I'd also like to take a tour of Europe someday.  I've seen to a lot of Europe already from when I was a child but there's lots of places I've never experienced that I would like to.

What is the one thing you absolutely cannot live without?
There's actually two things I cannot live without!  The first one is my parents.  I feel like they're really my only family and they are what keep me here.  I don't know any of my aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. and haven't seen them in many, many years.  If I ran into any of them on the street, I wouldn't recognize them.  My father was in the military so we moved around quite a bit and never lived near any of my parents families.  I have two older brothers.  One I have no contact with which suits me just fine (long story!) and the other one I only have intermittent contact with by his choice.  He and I were close when we were growing up but once he moved out on his own, he apparently decided he was truly on his own and we've rarely heard from him since.

The other thing I absolutely cannot live without is my pets.  I'd never lived by myself before I bought my house.  I'd always had roommates or lived with my parents.  Living by myself was very lonely at first and took some getting used to.  My pets helped me get through that difficult transitioning period and I can't imagine my life without having some kind of pet.  I currently have two chihuahuas and a betta fish and I love them more than life itself!  If I end up homeless, they'll be living in my car with me!  I'm not sure how that would work out with the fish but I'll figure it out.  LOL

So there you have it!  Maybe I'll do this again sometime in the future.

Look for details next week on my 2nd Annual Dog Swap!

Half Full Friday!

No Blog of the Week this week.  Not because I'm all out of ones to promote but because I'm lazy.  I haven't been home much this week and the blog I want to feature will require more than just a line or two.  BOTW will be back next week.

Today I went to my Job Assistance meeting and started crying.  I feel like I've worked so hard to find a job and nothing is happening.  I apply and apply and apply and rarely hear anything back.  I call back to follow up and almost always have to leave a voice mail.  Which no one returns.  So I call again and leave another voice mail.  My phone doesn't ring.  I've had several people review my resume and everyone has told me it looks great.  Very few have offered suggestions on how to improve it so I started having people look over my cover letters.  Again, very few suggestions given.  So what am I doing wrong?

It's been a hard week because it started out with my car not working, then there was the 6 month anniversary of being fired from my job along with the 3 year anniversary of my dog dying.  So I've been having a pity party for myself all week.

Sorry, just had to vent.  Let's move on, shall we?  Half-Full Friday always makes me feel better.

If you want to join in the fun, head over Eyegirl's and tell Mr. Linky I said hi!
I'm happy I got my car fixed!

I'm happy that I'll be an aunt in September to a bouncing baby boy!

I'm happy I got to have dinner with a friend this week!

I'm happy the power company is going to remove an annoying tree growing through my fence free of charge for me!  I tried to kill it once but it came back stronger than ever.

I'm happy the weather was fairly decent most of this week!

I'm happy the yard is going to be mowed this weekend!  I just wish I didn't have to do it myself.  I hate yard work.

Hope all my wonderful readers have a fabulous weekend!

Gettin' Frisky!

Three years ago today, my sweet little fox terrier Frisky passed away.

I tried to scan in a picture of her but it didn't come out very well.  She was black and white with brown on her face and ears.

I had picked her out at the local Humane Society earlier in the day and came back for her that evening.  My parents bought her for me as an early birthday present.  The Humane Society thought she was about a year old.  Her name was originally Bobbie but I didn't like that name for a girl so I changed it to Frisky after a friend commented how frisky she seemed to be.  Everyone I know repeatedly told me that Frisky was a cat's name.  I don't care - Frisky was her name and I wasn't gonna change it!

I took her home and it seemed to take her a few days to settle in.  She finally did and all seemed to be going well.  Until my brother and his family moved in with us for a few months!  Frisky became very vocal and stayed that way until the end.

She didn't like anyone but me after that.  She snapped at anyone who tried to pet her and growled at anyone who dared come near her.  I tried my best to socialize her, thinking that might help but it didn't seem to.  She did eventually warm up to other people but it took her a long time.

She loved to take walks.  At one time in my town, there used to be a dog walk to raise money for our local Humane Society.  Since that's where Frisky came from, we did the walk every year with the exception of the first year.  I'm not sure why she did this but after walking for any length of time, Frisky would always lift one hind leg up.  After awhile she'd switch legs.  Every single year on this walk, person after person would tell me that I needed to stop and check on her leg.  When I didn't, I'd often get dirty looks and probably nasty comments behind my back.  I took her to the vet after the first few times of seeing her do this and was told after a thorough checkup that there was absolutely nothing wrong with either of her hind legs and that this was a common trait of a fox terrier.  When I'd tell people this, no one seemed to believe me.  I liked to think this was just one of her many quirks and loved her all the more for it.

When I read the ad for Chico, it said that he sometimes lifts one of his hind legs up too after he's walked for awhile.  This kind of drew me to him because it reminded me so much of Frisky.

I lived with my parents when I first got Frisky.  My mom decided one day to build a pond.  Around this pond, she has a variety of  flowers and plants.  Frisky adored walking around the perimeter of the pond sniffing all of them, walking away to sneeze and then coming back to do it all over again!  And yes, even sneezing all over again!

I finally bought my own house and moved her and my cat in.  She didn't seem to know what to think at first but settled in pretty quickly.  The cat took a little longer.  She was an older dog by that time and I'm sure it wasn't easy to adjust to new surroundings.

One day I was shopping at the mall and out of the blue, purchased a chewing chihuahua puppy named Shiver.  This was a way bigger adjustment for Frisky than moving to a new house!  And she did NOT like Shiver in any way, shape or form and no problems letting him know it!  She learned to tolerate him but I don't think she ever really enjoyed having him chew and pounce all over her.

One morning I woke up out of a sound sleep at 4:00 AM.  Frisky was clearly in some serious pain and I didn't know what to do!  I was used to taking care of a sick kitty but not a sick dog!  So first things first, I tried to figure out what was wrong.  She wasn't bleeding anywhere and she hadn't gotten sick.  I touched her gingerly all over but I couldn't tell where she was hurting.

I regret this but I didn't call the vet right away.  It was 4:00 AM and even though my vet does have emergency service, I decided to call after they opened.  In the mean time, I just cuddled her and tried to keep her calm until we both went back to sleep.  I called the vet first thing in the morning and they couldn't get her in.  I tried to make an appt. for that following Saturday but they told me they only take certain appts. on Saturday's - which I found out later isn't true!  I got an appt. for the next week and kept my fingers crossed that everything would be ok until then.

That Saturday morning, Frisky was crying again.  She was old and I just knew deep in my heart that this was the end.  I didn't even make an appt, I just brought her in.  They squezed me in and asked why I hadn't brought her in sooner.  I told them I tried but that I couldn't get an appt any earlier.  The vet said she was full of cancer and at her advanced age of 12, there really wasn't much he could do for her.  It would be in her best interest to let her go.  And so I did.  My parents took me out in the middle of nowhere where my dad buried her.

May you always rest in peace, my beautiful Frisky!  I miss you more than you will ever know!

Ask Me No Questions, I'll Tell You No Lies!

I don't know why but I can barely keep my eyes open this afternoon!  Maybe it's the rain.  It's been coming down pretty steadily all day.  I love to curl up in bed with my boys and a good book on a rainy day.  Life just doesn't get much better!  I can't do that today though because I'm expecting company in a little bit.
Last night I was headed over to my parents house to have dinner just like I do every week.  Only when I got in my car, it wouldn't start!  I told my dad a few weeks ago that sometimes I had to turn the key a few times to get it to work and he told me I needed to think about investing in a new starter.  Yeah, well...I'd put it off because I don't have a job which means I don't have any money but now I don't have a choice in the matter!

Last night I dreamed that I was in some store parking lot and it wouldn't start.  I don't know what she would have been doing in my town or why she would lower herself enough to talk to me ('cause I'm pretty sure in her mind she'd think she would be lowering herself if she had to talk to a common, everyday person), but Kim Kardashian came over to help me out and it started right up for her!  If only that was the case - it's currently sitting in my garage waiting for the mechanic guy to come pick it up.

So ~ I'm sure you're wondering about the title of this post!  I've seen where people have been doing vlogs and/or just regular posts where they'll take questions from fellow bloggers and answer them.  This kinda scares me but I'm gonna go for it.  (Sorry, I'm not doing a vlog!)  If you have any questions about things you want to know about me, ask away!  And maybe I'll even answer them!  LOL  Just kidding, I'll answer them!  I do have a few skeletons in my closet that I won't discuss but pretty much everything else is open for discussion!  If anyone actually asks anything, I'll post the answer(s) in a future post!

Half-Full Friday and Blog of the Week

I can't believe it's Friday already!  Where did the week go?  There's no better way to welcome the weekend ahead  than to remind ourselves of all the things we're thankful for from the week past.  As always, if you'd like to join in the fun, head over to Eyegirl's and introduce yourself to Mr. Linky!
I'm happy I had a wonderful dinner at my parent's house this past Sunday!

I'm happy I got 2 chocolate bunnies for Easter this year!

I'm happy I got regular and chocolate covered Peeps in my Easter basket!  I realize I'm in the minority here but I do love me some Peeps!

I'm happy that I won Fiesty Three's giveaway!

I'm happy the sun came out for a couple of days this week!

I'm happy I colored my hair again on Wednesday!  Haven't done that in a long time.

I'm happy I got all my housecleaning done so I won't have to worry about it over the weekend!

Before we get to this week's Blog of the Week, can I just say that I'm really not morbid?  But as I mentioned before, I enjoy reading celebrity gossip and this website allows me to do just that!

This website is run by Scott Michaels.  If I remember correctly, someone on another blog used one of his pictures and linked the source back to this website and that's how I found it.  I'm not sure how long it's been existence but I'm pretty sure I've been reading it on and off for about 3 years now.

This site is all about celebrity deaths.  What I like about it is that it isn't written in tabloid style, it's written from as much first-hand knowledge as possible and includes several pictures per post.  Most of the stories are written by Scott with a few here and there by other writers who Scott gives credit to.

Each segment details the accounts of the days before the person's death, the reason for death if it's known, information about where they're buried and in most cases, pictures of the headstone and death certificate.  Scott has a thing for mailboxes so there's usually pictures of that as well.  Sometimes there's gory pictures too but he always makes sure to warn you so you're prepared for it when you open the link.

A lot of times after information is posted, people email Scott with additional information which is added at a later date.  I choose to believe that the site is fairly accurate with most of it's details as friends and family who have sent in updates have commented that what's been written is correct.

Find a Death isn't updated with any particular regularity.  I think a lot of it depends upon how many celebrities have passed away recently and how busy Scott is.  He also runs the Dearly Departed Tours in L.A. which provides tours of areas where various celebrities have died.  I don't know of anyone who has gone on this tour.  I've kind of wondered if I would go if I were in the area and I'm not sure if I would or not.  The tour was featured on an episode of The Girls Next Door according to the website.  I don't watch that show regularly but am disappointed I missed that particular episode.

If you can't get enough of the website, there's a Message Board and they're on Facebook and Twitter as well.  If that's still not enough and you feel like you need to share your love of Find a Death with the world, you can send in a self-addressed, stamped envelope for a free bumper sticker!   (And for anyone wondering -- no, I don't have one!)

Good and Bad News

Bad news first!  Well, I didn't get the job that I interviewed for about 10 days ago.  Got the call this morning and then a rejection letter via email a little bit later.  Great way to start off the week, huh?

I had a psychic reading last year and he said three separate times during the reading that there was a lot of change around me through March 2010.  I kept holding out hope that March would be the month I'd get a job.  So when I did the interview and it turned out to be probably the easiest one I've ever done, I walked away feeling like I got it for sure.  Then when I didn't hear back, called to follow up and was told that the person who does the hiring was out of the office until today, I just knew deep down inside that that wasn't the case.  I felt good about it the day of the interview but the longer I had to wait, the more I kept thinking of all the things I could've/should've said or done.  I don't know what I'm gonna do.  I've applied and applied and applied without much luck.  I'm afraid I'm going to lose my house and that makes me cry.

Anyways, I don't want to think about that so let's get to the good news!  I won a giveaway!!!  Fiesty Three are participating in GABE and their giveaway is a fancy dog collar and a donation to  their local Shelbyville-Bedford County Humane Association.  I love that they're donating to their local Humane Society!  I got one of my dogs at my local Humane Society who has since passed over the rainbow bridge.  I picked her out and my parents purchased her as a birthday gift for me many years ago.  She was the best birthday present I ever got so I have a special place in my heart for the Humane Society.  There were actually 3 winners for this giveaway - the 9th, 18th and 27th commenters.  I admit that I did count the comments before I added my own but I miscounted and didn't think I'd won.  Then when Cheryl told me I did, I had to go back and make sure!  I was the 18th commenter.  She asked what size I needed and since both my boys are chi's, I told her small.  I figure whichever dog it fits best is the one who will have the honor to wear it!

Thanks so much for the Fiesty Three for making my day!  I was SO excited when I found out I won.  I don't often have much luck with giveaways and this one came at just the right time to help pull me out of a slight depression.

The snow has melted too so that's even more good news!  It didn't melt so much as turn into slush from the rain.  I will take rain over snow any day though!  Wednesday is supposed to be sunny.  Keeping my fingers crossed because I'm ready to experience the sunshine again!

Half-Full Friday and Blog of the Week

Umm, I thought it was supposed to be spring?  We've gotten more snow in the two weeks of spring than I think we've gotten all winter!  Ok, maybe not really but it sure seems that way!  It has snowed every single friggin' day this week!  Ugh!!!  Fortunately it didn't stick...until today, that is!  Earlier it snowed the biggest snowflakes I think I have ever seen.  And now it's itty bitty flakes.  We've gotten at least two inches and it doesn't look like it's gonna stop anytime soon.  It's comin' down pretty hard out there!  I'm in denial and pretending I can't see it.

So...I hadn't heard anything back yet about the job I interviewed for last Friday.  I called on Wednesday to follow up and the lady who does the hiring will be out of the office until this coming Monday.  So...I still have no idea if I got the job or not!  I left her a voicemail and will hopefully hear something one way or the other soon.

It's Half-Full Friday!  Yay!!!  If you'd like to join, head on over to Eyegirl's and hook up with Mr. Linky!
I'm happy I finally got a haircut!

I'm happy I got to celebrate my mom's birthday with her yesterday!

I'm happy my mom shared one of her flowers with me yesterday!

I'm happy that Easter is almost here!

I'm happy that I found my chi's so easily after they went missing!

I'm happy my neighbor is kind enough to shovel all the snow in our shared driveway and the sidewalk so I don't have to!

I really like this week's Blog of the Week!  Whenever I go to other people's blogs, I like to check out the list of favorites on their sidebar.  This is one I kept seeing repeatedly in my early days of blogging.  I figured if so many other people seemed to like it, maybe I should see what I was missing out on!

This blog was started in November 2006 by Dan Murphy.  It reminds me in a lot of ways of 15 Minute Lunch.  I've read this blog for a couple of years now and have been there when Dan bought a puppy with his girlfriend Brooke (which they named Puppy, how cute is that?), he moved from New York to Miami and back again to New York and now Dan's engagement to Brooke.  Sometimes Brooke even makes an appearance and writes a few words here and there.  Brooke is just as funny and maybe even funnier than he is.
***Edit:  I don't know what's up with blogger but it won't let me fix the odd spacing.

Photo Tag

The Fiesty Three have been very generous to me!  First they tagged me for a Photo Tag which I've already done once before but decided to play again since it was so much fun the first time!  And as if that wasn't enough, they also were kind enough to give me an award!  I tried to post the award but it didn't print out the flashy words.  I posted the code too but I don't know what I'm doing wrong so I gotta figure it out first before I post it.

The rules for the tag are to go to your first picture folder and post your tenth photo.  I only have one folder which is filled with awards I've been given and pictures that I use for Wordless Wednesday's.  I've added and deleted pictures since doing the first photo tag but the tenth picture is still the same.  So...I went to my folder, scrolled all the way to the bottom and counted to ten starting with the last picture first.  For your viewing pleasure, I present to you:
The amazing Skeletor!  Wesley was standing on his front porch one day when this pit bull walked up to him.  He's been nursing Skelly back to health ever since.  Fortunately, he looks much, much, much better today!  You'd never know he's the same dog!

I'm supposed to tag 5 friends.  After thinking about it for awhile and realizing probably everyone has already done this already, I've decided that if you want to do this, feel free to do so!  I don't know who else to tag!

I have limited computer skills, for anyone who might have guessed differently.  What, no one did?  Yeah, yeah!  So I have a question for those more skilled than I am.  I'm following someone that I no longer want to follow.  How do I delete this person's blog from the list?  I did it once before a really long time ago and I can't figure out how to do it again.  I don't normally unfollow blogs but this is one that I just don't read anymore and don't have much interest in.  If I comment on your blog regularly, then I'm not gonna unfollow you.  Not that anyone was worried about that!

My interview on Friday was probably the easiest interview ever!  I interviewed with one lady first and then another lady.  There were a couple of things that could have gone better.  The job is in another town and I wasn't familiar with the area so I printed off directions I got from google and they were wrong.  Actually, they were mostly correct but they had me turning the wrong way down a one way street.  The directions said the building was on the right side.  Since I was one the wrong side of the street (and didn't immediately realize it), I was looking on the wrong side wondering why I couldn't find it.  Thank goodness I quickly realized that I was going the wrong way and parked on a side street.  It didn't immediately sink in that I was looking on the wrong side for the building.  I saw someone walking and stopped him to ask for directions.  Randomly, it turns out it was someone I worked with at a job from a really long time ago!  As I said on Friday, I don't know that he remembered me or not but he was very nice!  It took a minute before I recognized him as he looks a little different now with a beard.  It finally occured to me to go look on the other side of the street and there the building was.  I don't know for certain but I was probably a few minutes late with all the confusion.  I HATE to be late!!!  Especially when making a first impression because you never get to make another one.  And it is SO important when you're interviewing for a job!

Then I called the company by the wrong name.  Ugh!!!  Fortunately, the lady laughed and says she has to be careful when she answers the phone sometimes because she's been known to give the wrong name too!  The company name is Fitzpatrick, I called it Fitzgerald.  I'm sure that didn't win me any points!

They said I'd hear back today or tomorrow.  Haven't heard anything back today so maybe tomorrow.

That same afternoon, I attended my job assistance meeting.  I honestly don't feel like they've done a single thing to help me but it's free and gets me out of the house so I go.  They were going to send me to some other agency to work on mock interviewing.  Well, I don't know what's up with that other agency but they haven't gotten around to doing them yet so my caseworker is working on creating her own program.  That's excellent news because the agency was in another town and while I have a car, it's a 45 minute drive each way.  Having something locally would save me time and gas which is a win-win situation all the way around!

I was done with all my running around after that and came home.  I saw my neighbor in the driveway (we share a driveway) and went over to say hello.  He has been out of a job for 15 months now.  Yikes!  My neighbor is generally a pretty nice guy but I didn't leave with my self-esteem intact when our conversation was done.  He told me I looked like I was 43 and that I could stand to lose 25 to 30 pounds.  Um, I'm not 43, I'm actually younger.  I don't think I look 16 anymore but seriously, I didn't think I looked 43 either!  Most people think I'm in my mid to late 20's.  So I apparently look old and fat!  Just kind of ruined my day.

This weekend was filled with housework.  I let my puppies out for awhile and continued my work on Saturday afternoon.  Typically, I let the dogs out and Shiver scratches on the door every two minutes.  As soon as I open the door, he runs off again.  I think he just wants to know I'm still there even though he can't see me.  He did this a few times but then a long while had passed and it occured to me that he hadn't scratched for a long time.  I went outside and discovered my babies were missing!  What a truly awful feeling!  I ran back in the house and grabbed the leashes, ran back outside and went looking for them.  Didn't take long, thank goodness!  I found them in someone else's yard sniffing around.  Fortunately, they both ran right over to me and let me put their leashes on.  I promptly walked them home.

So that's all the (non-) excitement here at the moment!

Half-Full Friday and Blog of the Week

What better way to start the weekend than reflecting on the past week?  To join in the fun, head on over to Eyegirl's and say hello to Mr. Linky!
I'm sooooo happy to be feeling considerably better this week than last week!

I'm happy it's spring!

I'm happy I got to take my little chi's out for a walk one day this week!  The weather hasn't been very cooperative most of the week to take them again.

I'm happy I had an interview today!

I'm happy I ran into a a co-worker from a job I held a really time ago on the way to my interview!  I'm not sure if he remembered me or not once I confirmed it was him but he was still just as nice as I always remembered him being!

I'm happy I got a free cappuccino this morning!

This week's Blog Of The Week is my other blog!  Don't know if any of you have checked it out or not.

I found this blog by reading someone else's blog and clicking on a name I found interesting under a post comment section.  I'd been reading it for awhile and decided I wanted to be a part of the fun so I emailed and asked how to become a contributor.  Click here to read my very first post.  The blog was started in September 2007, I joined in April 2008.  I haven't posted there very much just because sometimes my dreams are pretty dull or I'll only remember snippets.

I often have weird dreams!  Very weird!!!  Always have and probably always will.  I've tried to have people analyze what they could possibly mean and have never gotten a very good answer about any of them.  It's fun sometimes to tell people about them and get their reactions.  And in return, I enjoy hearing about other people's dreams.

If you're the same way, this is the blog for you!

The fun thing about this blog is that on the right hand side are labels we've added to our posts.  I like to check it out now and again just to see what common threads run through our dreams.

Just Another Manic Monday

I don't know why but I have that song stuck in my head for some reason!

I am feeling soooooooooooo much better than I did this time last week!  So, so much better!  It wasn't even so much that I was sick the whole week last week but that it just seemed to take so much out of me.  Even now, I'll go to do something simple and I'm worn out when I'm all done.  What's up with that?!  I've still got the remnants of a cold and just a hint of a sinus headache but overall, I'd say I'm feeling considerably better!
Happy Spring!  I'm thinking of taking my litle chi's for a walk this afternoon.  It'll get me out of the house and thinking about things other than not having a job and will be good exercise for the three of us.  There's a cool walking path near my house that I like to go to.  Shiver hates to go but Chico loves it.  At the half-mile mark, there's several peices of old farm equipment along with signs describing what they were for and pictures of what the modern counterpart looks like today.  Quite an interesting look to the past!

Did Anyone Miss Me?

That flu/cold, whatever it was, really kicked my ass!  I'm finally feeling human again but I still have a cold and I don't feel like I quite have all my strength back yet.  I get tired easily and could get used to taking daily naps!  I had no voice for several days and am happy to report it's mostly returned now.

This has been a pretty dull week so not much to talk about.  I did take my little chi's to the vet's office and got them caught up on their yearly shots on Monday which I'm happy about.  While I was there, I was very tempted to ask if they could examine me too!

Tuesday I went to a monthly meeting I have for my community service type thing I do and was given some daffodil blossoms.  Put them in water and they opened right up.  So pretty!

Wednesday I had dinner with a friend who kept asking if I'd been to see various movies or done any shopping, etc.  I was a bit shocked she was asking as she knows I don't have $ for those things.  She brings in over $3000 a month whereas I have nothing.  She also acts as if she can barely survive on that over $3000 a month.  I've never made that much money and have have lived comfortably on much less.

Yesterday I went out and spent a little bit of my tax refund.  Every year I always stock up on laundry detergent, napkins, light bulbs, etc. with a portion of my tax money.  It's stuff that doesn't spoil so it can sit there and not be used for awhile yet makes it much easier on me financially to not have to worry about having to replace it any time soon.  It was fun to go shopping again and not double check the price on everything before buying.  Wish I could've bought some new clothes too but I was a good girl and didn't spend all my money!  Came home from that and had to lie down for awhile.  All my strength was just zapped!

And today I just did laundry.  That's it!  Haven't gone anywhere or done anything else.  And I'm ready for my daily nap again!

Blah!!!!!

That's how I'm feeling at the moment.

I woke up Saturday feeling not great but not horrible.  As the day wore on, I realized I had a fever when my bones started to ache and I couldn't get warm.  Sunday I felt better but not 100%.  This morning I felt better yet except for my throat which is on fire.  Ran some errands this afternoon and attended a meeting this evening and when I came home, my bones were achy again.  Another quick check of the thermometer shows a slight fever.  Tomorrow will be spent resting until my evening meeting.  I could have skipped tonight's meeting (and probably should've) but I can't skip out on tomorrow's.

Please keep Skeletor in your prayers.  He started his new heartworm meds and is having a reaction to them.  He spent most of today at the vet's office and is being kept overnight for observation.  Poor little guy has been through so much already.  Wesley updated his blog throughout the day and the last report was that he was "doing better."

In happier news, Cocorue's little sister, Tiffane, gave me an award!  Yay, I love awards!  How pretty is this one?!  I love it!

There weren't any instructions to pass it on but I don't like to be selfish with my awards, I like to share them!  A good portion of my bloggy buddies already have this one.  I'm not up to going back and checking to see who it's been given to so I'm gonna say if you don't already have this pretty little thing and would like it, please feel free to grab it!

I'm gonna go lay down for a little bit and rest up.  TTYL!

Half-Full Friday and Blog of the Week

I'm beginning to think that Bob is going to remain a permanent fixture!  His little brother Jimmy came and went within two days but Bob must be content 'cuz he sure doesn't seem to want to leave.  In fact, he's spread out a bit, gotten bigger and made himself at home.  :(

It's Fabulous Friday which means it's time for Half Full Friday!  As always, if you want to join in the fun, head on over to Eyegirl's and add yourself to Mr. Linky.
I'm happy I got both my state and federal tax refunds back already!

I'm happy the weatherman got it all wrong and we didn't get any snow this week after all!

I'm happy Max made it to his 10th birthday today!  Happy Birthday, Max!

I'm happy that after downloading approximately every possible Flash Player program available, I finally got the right one and can now watch videos online again as of last night!  :)

I'm beyond happy my Midol has FINALLY kicked in!  Midol is my bestest friend in the whole wide world right now!!!!!!

I'm happy I finally got my first ever McDonald's Shamrock Shake this week!

This week's Blog of the Week isn't really a blog but a website that I love to go to.  I'm not sure how I found it exactly but I used to read it pretty regularly.  Then I switched computers and lost the link and just recently found it again.

If you've ever worked in retail, you know just how stupid and funny people can be.  The basic gist of this website is people relaying their various experiences with customers.  What I love is that these snippets come from all over the world which goes to show we are all the same no matter where you go.  The stories come from all kinds of businesses, although they don't name the business itself.  The type of business and location only are given.  The names of the people involved are not usually given either, unless it is a vital part of the story being told.

The stories are all given from the point of view of the employee.  Reading them is like talking with a friend or a co-worker and hearing about their day.  This website was started in October 2007.  Sometimes when I have nothing better to do, I enjoy catching up on the older posts.  It never fails to make me laugh at how dumb people can be!  Luckily, I've never seen myself in any of the stories!  LOL

Bits and Pieces

The weather this weekend was beautiful!  Aaaaaand we're forecasted for snow this afternoon and Wednesday.  :(

I have a massive zit which has taken up residence on my forehead and refuses to leave.  It seems to have taken on a personality of its own.  I've named him Bob.

The sudden bloating is an indication that Aunt Flo will be visiting within the next several days.  I've told her over and over again that she's messy, inconvenient, expensive, painful, etc., but she still insists on coming back every month.

I let Chico out one day last week and he came back in with a bone about half his size!  Don't know where it came from so I took it away from him.  He wasn't happy about it.

Both of my boys seem to be a little more clingy than usual for some reason lately, especially Shiver!

Half-Full Friday and Blog of the Week

I live in a small town so I knew it would happen eventually.  I went grocery shopping yesterday and ran into my old asst. manager.  When I noticed her walking down the same aisle as me, I almost turned around to go down another aisle.  I knew that she had seen me though as she was looking right at me so I stayed.  She walked past me and said very softly, "Hi sprinkles."  And me?  I'm petty so I chose to look the other way and ignore her.  I always figured when we inevitably ran into one another, she would be the one to ignore me.   My asst. manager was a raging beeyotch to have to work with on a daily basis and that's putting it nicely!!!  So I was kind of shocked she even acknowlegded me!

Today is Friday and you know what that means, right?  Time for Half-Full Friday!  If you want to play along, head on over to Eyegirl's and add yourself to Mr. Linky!  And while you're there, please give her some encouraging words.  Her kitty just passed over the rainbow bridge so it's been a difficult week for her.
I'm happy I got my tax returns done for free last weekend!

I'm happy I'm getting a refund!

I'm happy I got 8 of the 13 things on my to-do list done yesterday!

I'm thrilled spring has shown signs that it's thinking about staying for a little while!

I'm happy I bought chocolate at the grocery store last night!

I'm happy I have everything ready for tonight!  The only thing left to get ready is me!  :)

A quick update on Skeletor!  If you'll remember, he was featured as last week's Blog of the Week.
Amazing, isn't it?  Hard to believe it's the same dog and he's looking better day by day.  There's another video today so if you opt to head on over, enjoy!

This week's Blog of the Week is one I found through a comment she left on someone else's blog.  I liked her name and decided to check out her blog.  I was fairly new to the blogging world at that time and really had no clue what I was doing.  Her blog is an excellent example of what I wish mine was!

Protege started this blog in March 2008.  Her profile says that she was born under the Tatra Mountains, to a Czech father and a Slovak mother. She grew up in Sweden, lived and worked almost 10 years in North Carolina and today she lives in Denmark with the most adorable kitty named Batcat.  She is the very definition of diversity!

Her posts are quite diverse too!  One day she'll post about makeup, another day she'll discuss the Seven Wonders of the World, and on yet another day she'll talk about the Roman Aqueduct.  She's given me quite the education on a number of subjects and it makes me wish I'd paid better attention in school instead of being more concerned with my social life.  Her blog is one of my favorites and I always look forward to reading what she has lined up for each new day!  My favorite posts are the ones about her cute kitty.  He's a blog star in and of his own right!

She has a Flashback Friday feature where she brings back songs from the past.  I've only heard of about half of the ones she's presented.  It's always fun to find new music (or rather, old but new to me!) and to recover memories from the past as I did today.
