Monday Meme

Has anyone else been having this problem?  I finally had some time to visit everyone yesterday, and Blogger kind of ruined it for me.  Almost every blog I tried to comment on, I had to re-sign in.  It would allow me to make comments on multiple posts without signing in again as long as it was on the same blog.  But each time I moved onto a new blog, I had to sign in all over again when commenting!  I got annoyed after awhile, so I quit commenting, but still read posts.

 Took this from here.

1.  What type of art do you appreciate most?

I like realistic art, something that you can tell what it's supposed to be.  I'm not a fan of abstract usually.

I used to not really care for watercolors, but then I saw a display of several on campus and some of them were really beautiful!

2.  How worried are you about terrorism?

I should probably worry more about it, but I really don't think about it all that much.  The only time it really comes to mind is when I think about events such as 9/11.

3.  What gift would you like to anonymously send someone?

Ever since I was in high school, I've always wanted to find a small cemetery (due to the expense) and put a flower on each and every grave.  I wouldn't tell anyone about it, because I don't want anything for myself.  I just don't want anyone to be forgotten.  I hadn't thought about this in awhile, but last semester I had to go to a cemetery for an archaeology assignment.  There were a ton of old graves there that I'm sure no one has visited in years.  That makes me sad!

I don't usually tell anyone about this, because when I have, I've been discouraged from doing so.

4.  Show and tell.  What comes to mind first when you see this picture?  Or tell a story if it reminds you of one.
I have about 6 rosebushes, counting the front and back yards.  I'm not very good about watering them or caring for them, yet they continue to come back year after year.  I love to see them bloom.  They're all pink and white though.

Happy Fall, Y'all!

I hope everyone is enjoying the start of autumn.  I miss summer already, but it'll be nice to have some (ever so slightly) cooler temperatures for a bit.

I'm so, so, so, so, so, so sorry I haven't been able to visit anyone or post regularly these days.  I miss blogging.  A lot!  School and work are keeping me ever so busy and I can't seem to find enough hours in the day to get anything done.  The crazy part is that I actually have a little more time now since I dropped a class, but it sure doesn't feel like it.  I have an exam this week, one next week, and one the week after, so my time is spent studying these days.  There's also some big essays due soon.

Took this from here.

1.  What's your most favorite pair of shoes ever?  Explain.

I have a pair of high wedges that I just love, but can barely walk in.  Sometimes I pull them out and try to walk around the house in them.  Mostly I just stumble and fall.

I bought a cute pair of boots just before school started that I'm really loving.  They're cute and comfy!

2.  If faced with it, could you rescue someone you didn't know, even if it put your life at peril to do so?

I'd like to think so, but I don't really know.  It's easy to say I would, but until I'm really in that situation, I'm not sure I'll ever know.  I'm deathly afraid of deep water, so I doubt I could do much for a drowning person.

3.  If there were a holiday in your honor, what would it celebrate?

It would be called Everything Is Better With Sprinkles Day, just because I'm awesome like that!  Cupcakes and ice cream would be the order of the day, with a thick coating of *sprinkles*, of course!

4.  Show and tell.  What comes to mind first when you see this picture?  Or tell a story if it reminds you of one.
Evidently, this is part of a cactus.  It reminds me more of a face you'd see in your nightmares, something that would be chasing after you.

Half Full Friday

Half Full Friday is a series of weekly posts that Eyegirl originally started in June 2009.  We believe that a lot of our happiness is determined by our attitude about the things that happen to us.  So by participating, I'm deciding to see the glass as half full instead of half empty.  I'm choosing to concentrate on the positives instead of dwelling on the negatives.  The Half Full Friday posts are a way to do just that.  They're a list of the things in my life that have brought me happiness over the past week.  I'm determined to find something good in each day.  Are you?

For the next week, I'd like to challenge each of you to keep a list of at least one thing that brought you happiness each day.  And then come back here and tell me about it!

~I'm happy because...

I dropped a class, so I got a small refund!

We got a lot of rain this week!  It's been a long time since we've had a good rain fall!

I'm getting my garage door fixed this morning!

Arts in the Park is this weekend!

I was able get around to visiting a few of you in between classes this week!

Wordy Wednesday and Giveaway Winner

Sorry I haven't been able to visit or post much.  I swear that each semester of school brings more and more homework.  I actually ended up dropping a class because it was just too much, combined with my other classes and work and homework.  It would have been the most time consuming class, so I'll retake it (required statistics class) at a time when I can focus on it better.

So far, my classes are going well.  The one class that I thought sounded incredibly dull is actually turning out to be quite interesting!  And the one class I thought would be more interesting is pretty dull so far.  Math is already over my head, but I work with a math major now, so I've told her we're going to become BFF's whether she wants to or not, because I'm going to need a LOT of help.
I'm sure you're all just dying to know who won my giveaway.  Finn and Charley win by default, since they're the only ones who entered.  Finn and Charley, please email me with your address, so I can get the Frosty Paws coupons sent out.  I'm disappointed we couldn't use them, but happy that you can!

Finn and Charley are taking a bloggy break.  Feel free to stop by and congratulate them and maybe put a little pressure on them to come back to Blogville!   We miss them!
